It’s back to reality today after an amazing weekend at the beach! We had beautiful weather and it was just perfect….I sat¬†on the beach¬†and read Sookie¬†Stackhouse novels for 3 days…perfection! Unfortunately I didn’t take a lot of pictures while I was there, I took my camera but I was just too busy relaxing to bother with it.

Today I am going to share some pictures of the newest addition to our family…Darcy. I know I threw around a couple of other names on the blog earlier (sookie, gilmore, etc.) but they just¬† didn’t stick. I came up with Darcy from a book I had read (Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin) and we knew immediately that it would be her name!

I did get a few pictures of Darcy’s first trip to the beach!

Isn’t she adorable!?

Today I also want to congratulate a very best friend of mine, Sarah,¬†and her husband Jeremy on the birth of their baby girl, Bryleigh! She is just beautiful and you guys are going to be¬†wonderful parents. It’s been amazing to see your dreams come true!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

My Own Kinda Paradise

“Got the blue sky breeze and it don’t seem fair
Only worry in the world is the tide gonna reach my chair
Sunrise there’s a fire in the sky
Never been so happy
Never felt so high
And I think I might have found me my own kind of paradise”

Black Mountain

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. My mom and I went to Black Mountain on Saturday to visit my younger brother Kendall, he plays baseball for Montreat College. He doesn’t get to come home a lot due to his baseball schedule so we were excited to visit with him for the day.

The baseball field at Montreat¬†is literally¬†carved into the side of a mountain…

This is the building that Kendall lives in…

It is truly a beautiful campus…

We had such a great time…It’s such a cute little town and I can’t wait to go back and really explore the campus and roam around the shops in Black Mountain.

I hope everyone has a great Monday!

You Must Read: The Paris Wife

Posted on

I know I said I was going to post funny things on Friday but today I just finished an amazing book and it’s in my head so much right now that I had to share it with all of you! I’m always eager for people to recommend books to me so I thought I would do the same for you.

The Paris Wife by Paula McLain¬†is a historical fiction novel that details the meeting and marriage of Ernest Hemingway and his first wife Hadley Richardson. The story is told through Hadley’s voice and it’s beautifully heartbreaking. The novel is set in Paris during the 1920’s and you really feel as if you are there in the cafe’s while the story unfolds. You will not be able to put this book down! I read in two short days and was sad when I reached the last page. So if you are looking to immerse yourself in a book this weekend give this one a try!

Have you read any good books lately? I’m always open for suggestions!

Happy Friday,
